Many drivers drive without headlights on at night – By Mr. MC

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

Recently, I discovered more drivers are driving without headlights on during night time. I usually notify those driver by going in front of them, and switch of my headlights for a few seconds, and then, turn it back on. Most of those drivers would realize that, and then, turn their headlights back on.

I believe drivers who forgot to turn on their headlights are due to a few reasons:

  • They parked at a bright parking lot where there was no need to turn their headlights on
  • They were not paying attention while driving, or they were still on the phone…

Anyway, it’s dangerous without headlights on.
Headlights is also important during rainy, or foggy days.

Last year around Nov 2010, I got a ticket for CVC 22101(d) – By Mr. MC

Last year around Nov 2010, I got a ticket for CVC 22101(d) by doing this.

CVC 22101 (d) is described as follow:

California Vehicle Code Section 22101 – Regulation of Turns at Intersection

(d) When official traffic control devices are placed as required
in subdivisions (b) or (c), it shall be unlawful for any driver of a
vehicle to disobey the directions of such official traffic control
devices.

I did Trial By Written Declaration to contest this ticket, and I mailed it to the courthouse during Thanksgiving long weekend. Then, a few weeks ago, I received the court decision that my ticket has been dismissed, and I saved $240.00. Once I got the refund check from the courthouse, I will take a picture along with all other documents, and post it at www.MotherCopper.com. This is my 3rd tickets since 2007, and so far, I beat all of my tickets.
